The iconic American bird was spotted in Oklahoma by Brigham Young University-Idaho student Justin Briley, who thought at first it was an albino turkey vulture. Turns out, it’s neither. The bird isn’t albinistic, but leucistic, his professor said. Leucism is a genetic condition that prevents pigment from reaching birds’ feathers, causing discoloration, according to @okwildlifedept.
