From pumpkin pie to pecan or apple, the dessert is a classic part of Thanksgiving Day. Ahead of Thanksgiving, Google shared a list with USA TODAY of uniquely searched pies in each state. Pumpkin pie emerged as the recent favorite, along with other seasonal options such as pecan and sweet potato pie. But there were some surprising, less seasonal results: California and Washington opted for banana cream pie, while Colorado chose lemon meringue pie, and Utah chose key lime pie. Buttermilk pie was popular in Georgia and Texas, and peanut butter pie won in Ohio. Hawaii opted for Haupia pie, while Indiana and Massachusetts picked cranberry pie.
