Ukrainian investigators are exhuming more than 440 graves at a mass burial site found in the recently liberated city of Izyum in northeastern Ukraine.
Emergency service workers and police found the graves and what officials describe are torture chambers in destroyed cities of the Kharkiv region after an unexpected Ukrainian counteroffensive liberated most of the area.
Oleksandr Filchakov, head of the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office, told Suspilne, a Ukrainian news website that 338 people had been exhumed so far, which include the bodies of 320 civilians and 18 military personnel.
