A new star in men's tennis reached a significant milestone Sunday when Carlos Alcaraz of Spain won his first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open, defeating Norway’s Casper Ruud. The win makes Alcaraz, who turned 19 in May, the first teenage male to ever reach No. 1 in the world. He's also the youngest man to win a maiden Grand Slam title since Rafael Nadal did it just shy of his 19th birthday at the 2005 French Open. 🔗 Catch up on the #USOpen at our link in bio. 📸: @apnews
