The House committee created to investigate the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol is scheduled to begin a series of hearings in June starting Thursday. The committee, which is made up of nine members of the House, has subpoenaed nearly 100 close allies of former President Donald Trump, individuals and businesses that organized events surrounding the date of the insurrection. Seven Democrats and two Republicans are on the bipartisan committee. Each was appointed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., after McCarthy retracted his choices.
