Students walked out of their schools across the country Thursday in response to the Tuesday massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas that left 21 dead, including 19 children.
More than 200 schools in at least 34 states plus the District of Columbia have students who walked out in response to the Uvalde massacre, according to the gun control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety, the parent organization of Students Demand Action, who organized the walkouts.
Among the schools that participated was Oxford High School, the school in Michigan that suffered a shooting in November that left four dead.
The students participating at El Camino Real Charter High School in California marched around campus during their walkout, specifically calling for for laws to address gun violence and saying they felt it would fall to their generation to effect long-term change around gun laws.
