Shanghai, the financial center of China and a city of 25 million, is now in its fifth week of lockdown due to a COVID surge in China. While stringent measures were lifted in other cities as cases started to decrease, Shanghai remains on strict lockdown due to deteriorating conditions. Residents are not allowed to leave their homes or go grocery shopping.
