When a Title IX investigation at Cal Poly Humboldt found a dean, John Lee, sexually harassed two colleagues, California State University attorneys viewed his retreat rights as a shield that rendered him unfireable. Six years later, Lee is a tenured professor at Humboldt teaching elementary education courses and earning the maximum salary at the same campus as the women he was found to have groped.
