The Denver Fire Department responded to a fire at Empower Field at Mile High, home of the Denver Broncos, on Thursday. The team said a small fire occurred in a construction zone near a lounge area and the third level of seats, which was quickly evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were sustained, the team said, but firefighters discovered "heavy fire and smoke" upon arrival and were needed to extinguish the flames after sprinklers did not contain the blaze. Black smoke could be seen billowing out of the stadium.
