It has been one year since six Asian women were murdered in a string of shootings at Atlanta-area massage parlors that killed eight people. Though the shooter’s motive was debated, the violence was felt by many Asian Americans across the nation who already felt under threat amid a growing wave of anti-Asian American hate crimes and rhetoric.
In light of the anniversary of the mass shootings, USA TODAY asked prominent Asian Americans to reflect on the past year and their hopes for the Asian American community amid the ongoing attacks.
