A beachgoer rests in the sun along the beach as a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blasts off from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022. SpaceX vaulted yet another batch of Starlink satellites from Kennedy Space Center on Thursday, expanding its space-based internet constellation just as a new premium connectivity option takes shape. The launch came just after Elon Musk announced Starlink Premium, an upgraded version of the standard service that offers faster speeds, higher priority, and updated hardware. Starlink's website advertises premium speeds between 150 and 500 mbps, which is roughly equivalent to many ground-based options. The premium service also commands a premium price: $499 a month versus the standard tier's $99 a month.
