Buffalo scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes of regulation, but the Chiefs responded with a touchdown and the field goal to force overtime.
And in the extra period, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes orchestrated a game-winning drive capped off by an 8-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce.
Looking ahead, the Chiefs will host the Cincinnati Bengals with the winner clinching a spot in the Super Bowl.
