When it comes to electric car batteries, automakers are going the distance.
Mercedes-Benz unveiled a concept vehicle, the Vision EQXX, at the Consumer Electronic Show, CES, in Las Vegas. The company says the vehicle is capable of going up to 620 miles before it runs out of juice.
How far does 620 miles get you? Drivers would be able to get from the Vegas trade show to San Francisco on a single charge.
While Mercedes' Vision EQXX is only a prototype – it's not clear when or if its technology can be transferred to a production vehicle – it is surrounded by real-world competitors showing impressive gains in battery output.
