And then there were two ...
The two College Football Playoff bowls played on New Year's Eve Friday provided very little drama, but they did set up an intriguing rematch for the national title.
In the late game Friday night, Georgia barely broke a sweat and bulldozed Michigan 34-11 at the Orange Bowl in Miami.
Earlier Friday, Alabama earned the chance to play for yet another national title after securing a comfortable 27-6 victory over Cincinnati at the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas.
The wins by Georgia and Alabama set up a rematch of the SEC Championship game played Dec. 4 in Atlanta and won by Alabama 41-24. Coaches Kirby Smart (Georgia) and Nick Saban (Alabama) will have their hands full when they square off again on Monday, Jan. 10 in Indianapolis.
