Sports photographer Danielle Parhizkaran took this at her very first Olympics this year. "It was stressful at first because of all the red tape surrounding COVID protocols," she writes. "It was an amazing experience. What I did see notice that in the absence of fans, the athletes were cheering each other on. Especially in women’s gymnastics, they were making up for the lack of applause from what would usually be a packed area."
