It bothered Candace Ayers that so many people doubted the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, wouldn’t wear masks or practice social distancing and later refused to get vaccinated. After she died of COVID-19 on Sept. 3, her children and husband were heartbroken. They were angry, too.
