Serena Williams had to retire from Wimbledon with an apparent leg injury in the first set of Tuesday's match, forcing her out of the tournament.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Williams had slipped on wet grass on Centre Court while playing against Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ After taking a time out to get her leg treated and wrapped by an athletic trainer, the seven-time Wimbledon singles champion gave it another shot. However, she was unable to move and was forced to retire from the match.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Williams last won the women's singles title at the All-England Club in 2016.
