A fan holding a big sign for a picture wasn't watching when the oncoming rider approached among hundreds of bicyclists on a narrow part of the course. With no gate or blockage from spectators and bicyclists, the rider crashed into the sign, setting into motion a domino effect with other cyclists falling over left and right.
