Missed the strawberry moon? Check out these photos of the last supermoon of the year. ➡ 🌕 MOON FACTS 🍓 The strawberry moon, which actually didn't look red or like a strawberry, illuminated a golden color across the sky Thursday evening and peaked at 2:40 p.m. EDT, but was not visible until later in the evening. The supermoon was dubbed the strawberry moon because it signaled to some Native American tribes the ripening of strawberries that were ready to be gathered, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. The moon is also called the hot moon due to its rise at the beginning of summer and in Europe it can be called the honey moon. #strawberrymoon #honeymoon #hotmoon #supermoon 📸: Matt Rourke, Petros Giannakouris, Alexander Zemlianichenko Jr (@APnews), Amir Makar (@gettyimages)
