Un-bay-lieveable: Golden retriever was rescued from New Jersey bay after vanishing two weeks ago. It had been more than two weeks since Chunk the dog went missing and there hadn’t been any sightings of him for more than a week. Chunk's owners, Jim and Marie Zangara, didn’t have much hope until they received two unexpected calls that changed everything. The first call came from two joggers who had seen the missing dog flyers. They said they saw the golden retriever jump into the bay and then asked a boater to help. He couldn't get Chunk on his boat, but promised he would stay close to Chunk until police arrived. State troopers with the marine police unit located he 3-year-old dog in the water and brought him to shore where the Zangaras came to retrieve him. Marie Zangara said the ending to this story is like a Hollywood movie. "Because he was lost in the marsh for so long and then he winds up in the bay. He actually swam across the entire Barnegat Bay. Luckily he's a strong dog and this worked out very nicely. ” 📸 Brian Johnston, Ryan Ross (@asburyparkpress) | #goldenretriever #dogrescue #barnegatbay
