How did India wipe out polio? The answer can be found in the Indian state of Bihar -- home to one of the poorest castes in India, the Musahar. Vaccinating the Musahar, and other people living in remote areas, was one of the final obstacles India faced in its campaign to wipe out the disease. In 2010, the government deployed more than 2 million polio workers to reach every child. They covered every speck of the country, and by 2014, India achieved its goal of being polio free, an incredible feat.
