This summer, I visited a remote village in Tanzania to see how health workers are making progress against lymphatic filariasis, one of the world’s most devastating diseases. Local health workers were participating in what’s known as a mass drug administration campaign, which seeks to treat everyone for a disease (even if they aren’t sick). I’m optimistic that programs like this can help ensure that kids today grow up to enjoy longer, healthier lives than their parents.
