tl;dr: retirement I'd like to announce my retirement from the competitive world of figure skating. Due to the current situation with covid-19, along with my own personal reasons, I've decided the smartest decision is to step away from competitive skating. It's not an easy decision to make but I'm lucky enough to be able to look back on my career with pride and without regret. Skating has opened the world to me in ways people my age rarely have the opportunity to experience, and for this I am extraordinarily grateful. To my parents who supported my career mentally, emotionally, and financially, there are no words to describe how grateful I am for your sacrifice. To all my coaches over the years, Adam Dooley Tammy Gambill, Todd Sand, and Ondrej Hotarek, you've all played an immensely integral part in my athletic development as well as my development into a functioning member of society. Specifically I'd like to thank my long time personal trainer Tyrone Bennett @makuiniarisaba. You were an incredible mentor and inspiration to me during my teenage years and I'm immeasurably appreciative of your guidance. (And for kicking my ass during workouts) To the fans who've followed my career, I'm eternally thankful for your grace and words during my successes and my failures. I know I've never been the most consistent competitive skater but everyone whom I've mentioned above has always had my back throughout good performances and poor performances. I'm lucky enough to continue doing what I love by fully beginning my career within the show world of figure skating. Already I've been blessed enough to perform in shows among the greatest figure skaters in the world and in some of the most beautiful countries and venues I can imagine.
