Happy Easter! ❤️💛💚 I have a resurrection story for ya... I never really post my personal life online, but felt compelled to share this one. My most personal battle that I finally laid to rest. This weekend, I reconnected with my biological father Hendy, after 20 years of not speaking. It was a terrifying leap to take, cause I buried my feelings about my #adoption for a long time. Hearing his stories about our Rasta roots and what he faced in life was fascinating. It gave me a newfound understanding and compassion towards a part of my story I labeled as bad for the way things went down. It was crazy but also chill. We were able to pick up where we left off. Thanks to my beautiful sisters Maria & Arhea for encouraging this but also making me feel comfortable. Really trippy just seeing my face in his face but more so our life similarities. His family is filled with musicians, artists and writers so, how cool that my (adopted) family is filled with the same. I lucked out ending up with my parents Martin & Kay and brother Casey. I constantly think about how I could have been so different. Most kids who are given up don’t get this lucky. So, I’m extremely grateful for THIS life. My life. If you’ve made it this far lol and have any type of similar rift in your family I hope I might encourage you to rebuild that bridge. By forgiving him, I think I really forgave myself and lifted this burden off my shoulders healing both our hearts. #onelove
