TW: women's issues Women's Day Prayer May all women be free to walk to their cars at night alone without keys between her fingers, to go on a run without having to tell someone and without pepper spray, to be alone at a party and drink, to leave her drink uncovered in a bar, to not have to hear with young ears a relative or other adult threaten her to keep their 'secret,' to wear what she wants to without being picked apart or 'asking for it,' to enjoy sex on her terms without shame, to go to a mechanic or get home repairs, and know she isn't being overcharged, to speak her mind without a man "correcting" her or speaking over her, or taking her words as his own, to be safe in her home with her partner, to know that her partner understands that she is worthy of respect and honor, to be whatever shape she would like her body to be without judgement, to be a mother, or not, to work outside the home or in it, to be respected and paid as the expert she is, to be able to do it all, but to know she doesn't have to in order to be valuable, to enjoy guilt-free intentional rest, to love her lines on her face, the white of her hair, so well earned with years of holding up her head and straightening her crown, and laughing in the face of all the world expects of her as a woman, and may she be free to define herself and womanhood on her own terms, because she is already divine. -Nina Shyne #womensday2023 #transwomenarewomen #allwomenarequeens
