First workout completed since I got home from to back to back films. I want to figure out a way to get in some exercise, (besides the exercise I get on set,) while I’m on the job, but to be honest, the mental and physical work of it all seems enough, and resting when I can takes precedence. Now that I’m home and rested, I’m back to regaining my gains. When we are in the throes of food addiction and haven’t yet realized the truth that fitness is a way of life, not just something we do, it’s tempting to think “it’s no use! I’ll always be out of shape. I’ll just eat this because it doesn’t matter.” Or “See?? It didn’t work! I gained weight!” Or “What’s the point of all that work if it’s so easy to lose progress?” Bodies don’t work that way. It’s normal for weight to fluctuate and it’s normal to eat outside our healthiest once in a while, and not be able to keep up fitness routines once in a while. Humaning happens. But we return to good food and movement because we know our bodies and minds are at their optimal when we do. We crave good food and exercise to feel normal. That’s when you know you’ll never go back, that this is just who you are now.
