Just helped a client remember this, and thought maybe some of my friends needed to hear it, too:
Remember as you go through your day to notice how the events and moments in it change, and remember to switch gears to match the new moment. We tend to hold on to stress even after the event has been handled. You have to tell your brain it’s okay, time to move on.
Just because something stressful happens doesn’t mean you’re having a stressful DAY. Even if 10 stressful things happen there are moments between, and letting go of the last 9 ensures that the 10th doesn’t make your cup overflow.
Handle that thing and congratulate yourself for doing so. Then be in the moment that’s just arrived.
Helps prevent lots of health issues. And emotional eating. It’s a thing. Really.
