The diet industry, and our culture, has trained us to hate ourselves, to see our bodies as “wrong” and as this thing that fights you in your efforts to look the way you want to. And we wonder why we then skip workouts, eat to soothe our feelings, and yo yo up and down for years. It’s hard to do what’s good for us when we feel bad. When we heal that relationship with food, our bodies, and ourselves, and write a whole new story, we find exercise is JOY. The mental and physical benefits our lovely bodies give us in exchange for this loving care are just what they’ve been wanting to give us the whole time. How wonderful to have these bodies to use for this life! We say “thank you” for the privilege by running them at optimal. We love ourselves while we heal from old stories, unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and every choice we make changes us, when made with gratitude. Give your body fun, challenging, joyful movement every day, and take a moment to notice, right after, how you feel.
