See that’s the thing- neural pathways created by old experiences create stories that we just accept as “the way it is” or “the way I am” and if we never challenge them, we stay in that groove. When we start to change them by recognizing them as not helpful and not even true, it’s not an instant switcheroo. We have to stay on top of it, tell those old thoughts and stories “No thank you, this is what I think/feel/do now” - and to make new pathways we must do this over and over again. Sometimes we don’t catch that old stuff before we find ourselves doing something that isn’t part of the plan to be our new/true selves. This is not a sign that those old tracks are irremovable. It is not a sign that they’re stronger than you. They’re just a deep groove that you’re erasing, so you let that moment go, straighten up, and catch it and switch it to the new groove you’re creating, next time. It’s a process. Stay the course and change WILL happen. Science and evidence tells us so. Also, don’t forget your sense of humor 😉❤️
