This year’s Tech Night at Pops soloist is cellist Valerie Chen ’22, who will perform the third movement of the Cello Concerto in B Minor by Antonín Dvořák with Boston Pops Orchestra on Friday, June 2 as part of Tech Reunions weekend. “I consider myself the voice between the composer and the audience,” she says, bringing to life music that first formed in another person’s mind more than a century ago. “It transcends time. Someone had this idea so long ago, and now it’s being performed in a different time and context.” At the link in the bio, learn about Chen’s long-playing musical career at MIT, her doctoral pursuits, and her work as a robotics software engineer. . . . @‌MITEECS #TechReunions @‌TheBostonPops
