I have experienced many of my life’s greatest moments while writing, recording, performing and spending time with the members of Modest Mouse. From the deepest level of my being, I wish to thank and extend my love to each person in the band, and our crew. You have made my life richer. The Modest Mouse universe is without comparison.  The people who love this music, the fans who come to the shows year after year, and who support each other and the band, have brought such beautiful, indelible memories to my life. To every one of you, I thank you.  Almost 500 shows and a couple albums later I have left the band. Things change, and the situation no longer fit my life.  I am writing and recording music under the name Small Isles, composing for picture, running A&R at Dangerbird and most importantly, spending each day with my son Azul. 📷 @jjamesjoiner NYC, 2016
