My biggest pet peeve is this. If I talk about my disability, etc, when i introduce myself, I’m being accused of somehow being manipulative or some other accusation, instead of my true intentions, which is: im made fun of every day of my life and so to avoid people thinking im drunk, stupid, etc, I sometimes playfully say, ”hey, I look the way I do because im disabled, but im a cool guy.” Or in this case, I had said to her: “hey, you may swipe left on me because I have a facial disability, but imma really good guy and would treat you right. So swipe right.” That’s literally all I said. It was offering up that I’m more than I appear to be. Because believe it or not, people have and do reject me for how I look. Especially with online dating. So to avoid any harmful stereotypes, I usually just throw out an FYI of, “hey, this is me.” So honestly, I feel this person was using a cop out with my words to avoid getting to know me.
