SOOO… Today I accepted the award of an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, from Allegheny College. 😬🥳 Honestly I was blown away when they contacted me a year ago to offer me this accolade, and I really didn’t know how to feel about it at first. Doctoral degrees are earned through so much hard work, dedication and sacrifice on part of the recipient- it’s difficult for me to equate my work worthy of an honorary degree on the same level. (PLEASE never call me Dr. 😅 it’s not appropriate here!) At the same time it’s an incredible feeling to realize one’s work is noticed, valued and appreciated in a way that is deemed worthy of this distinction. Huge thanks to everyone at @alleghenycollege who has championed my work, and a MAJOR CONGRATULATIONS to everyone graduating this year, having spent your final few semesters during a global pandemic, you are the real rockstars and I AM PROUD OF YOU. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I wasn’t able to make it in person so swipe to see me BEAMING from my couch in the regalia they sent 😂 GAH.
