Today in Dr. Payne’s Intro to Urban Design class, students drew figure/ground diagrams, which reduce cities to diagrams with solid shapes where buildings are, and empty space where everything else is (streets, rivers, parks, etc.) It’s a method that helps people quickly compare and contrast the layout of different cities. #daeveryday #deerfieldacademy
