On the fringes of Chitwan National Park in Nepal from where I’ve just returned, this Greater One-Horned rhino wanders in from the jungle for his routine evening patrol through town. He seemed very chilled despite the commotion. The surrealness of the moment only slightly overshadowed my wonder at what might be going through his mind? Hardly evolved for nearly 12 million years, their range has been reduced to just one percent of what it once was. Hunting, human settlement and agricultural ‘development’ the culprits. Humanity’s relentless march towards ‘progress’ continues. -
