On Monday, @simondavidkinberg and I welcomed our daughter, Memphis Love Kinberg into the world.
She is pure joy.
In the hospital room before I got ready to push, one of my nurses and I put up a sign that said, “300,000 women around the world are giving birth with me today” (There are about that many babies born each day- a stat I was completely in awe of.) While I was in labor I thought about not only my baby but all of the babies joining our global community that day and felt such a strong connection to the human experience and all of the things we go through together without even knowing it.
When I was pregnant, Simon and I would often say that having a child is the ultimate act of optimism. And what becomes more and more evident to me is that love is the greatest fuel for optimism. Love of people.
Love of place (this incredible planet that holds us through it all). I am so grateful for this little piece of love that showed up in our lives on Monday and reminded us to remain optimistic and keep working for a better world for all of the babies we share it with.
I love you all so much and thank you for your support, suggestions, and recommendations throughout my pregnancy. It truly meant so much to me and has been so helpful. ❤️
