Behind my mom is a poster for the book she raced to finish before she lost all her words. Over her shoulder is a painting of me she did when I was in high school. She still paints sometimes but the decades she spent as a writer are just a memory she no longer has. Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month is almost over but I’ll be joining the @alzassociation in fighting to #ENDALZ every day until this ugly disease that has stolen the memories & lives of over 5 million Americans is forgotten. #GoPurple
