On Sunday, ASN was invited to a private vigil for the escort killed here in Vegas. Larissa was more than an escort. She was a mother of two kids and was attending school. She was working as an escort to take care of them. Although ASN focuses on brothel legalization expansion, I salute Larissa for trying to make money to provide for her family. Sex work is noble. Sex work is less dehumanizing than cleaning 💩 for low pay or being an Uber driver driving drunk people or rude people around for $8. In 2024, it’s shocking at how scoffed at sex work is. We can thank religion and radical ideologies for the decades of stigma here in the USA. For those who say sex work is in conflict with a polite society, why is it then that in 2000, a German judge ruled that sex work was a legitimate profession, which solidified Germany’s sex work legality laws. Is the fact that American judges refuse to rule like the German judge did a reflection of religion controlling American laws or of prostitution itself? Was the German judge wrong or have we as a society been so jaded by centuries of puritanical laws and views that we have lost sight of what is truly right and wrong? ASN learned a lot by running campaigns this year and we hope we can take our experiences to solidify multiple wins in 2026. #sexwork #vegas #brothel #nvbrothel #campaign #2024 #2026
