At the May 6, 2024 Lincoln County Commission meeting, the meeting minutes reflect double standards. Although ASN wasn’t able to attend the meeting in person, we wanted to address a few double standards. 1. A Ms. JP Nola Holton claims brothels shouldn’t be in Lincoln because they serve alcohol and that somehow leads to drunk driving…. We would love for Ms. Holton to explain why the existing bars in Lincoln are OK to exist, but if a brothel serves alcohol, then that’s not ok? These fear tactics will be called out as 💩 . 2. In the same breath, Ms. Holton opposes brothels because the sex workers, on their off days, shop at the stores and that exposes the children of the county to sex workers. Ms. Holton, do you even consider anything you say? The sex workers would be dressed like anyone else if they went out in public. You wouldn’t be able to identify them. They’re not going to go out and sleep with the entire town. 3. The County claims the administrative costs would be $800,000 to regulate the brothels. They claim they would need to hire extra police officers. We politely disagree with this assessment. Regulating the brothels would be like any other business. The proposed ordinance stipulates private security must be in brothels, so there wouldn’t be a need for police officers around the clock. Police would only be needed if arrests were needed. As the minutes show, Ely claims they hardly have police go to their brothels. I’m sure Pahrump shows the same thing. We feel we will win this election , but it won’t be by a large majority. It will definitely be a 50.1 to 49 percent vote sort of thing. One of the reasons that is is because of the fear-mongering. Stop with the double standards, Lincoln County. #nevada #vegas #brothel #nvbrothel #2024 #2024election #lincolncountynv #pioche #sexwork
