For the last year I’ve been obsessed with the idea of starting a non-profit that inspires, empowers, and prepares our girls and young women to run for student government. On this International Women’s Day, I’m finally putting pen to paper and making it happen! It’s proven that when girls run for office at a young age, their propensity to run later in life increases immensely. Rates of women in elected office are still consistently low in 2018: 19.8% of Congress, 12% of Governors, and 21% of Mayors.
