During November 23 and December 14 1972 the band had recorded the backing tracks to eight of the ten songs that made it onto Goats Head Soup. In addition to those they recorded Through The Lonely Nights (single b-side to It’s Only Rock’n’Roll), Short and Curlies (used on It’s Only Rock’n’Roll album 1974) Tops and Waiting On A Friend (used on Tattoo You album 1981).
