German Album Charts - Resonance at #7

So? What's impressive about that? Well, seven of the year's "biggest" major label releases came out the same week and all went into the top 10 (including the FNM album, which is not three bad). Still don't get why this is impressive? Let us put this in perspective for you. You see, there was no half million euro promotion budget here. There were no TV ads, no major press ads,... no promo videoclips, etc. etc. Armed pretty much just with social media to let you know about the album and keep you updated, our tiny label where we worked for months on this release from morning to night, our awesome independent distributors and publicist, but most of all - a very loyal army of motherhugging fans, plus a lot of people who heard these songs and liked what they found - we didn't just go play alongside the big dogs : we did our thing, we ignored the doubters, we knew exactly what we were doing and we went about creating some beautiful and emotionally powerful music for its own sake because we needed to make it, and we showed a lot of people that what's important is the heart you put into the things you believe in, that all that big money and so-called commercial power are meaningless, and that all that glitters is the gold ink and foil on the covers of the CD and Boxset :)
