A small ceremony took place yesterday to mark the standing up of 207 Squadron at RAF Marham.
Following their journey from MCAS Beaufort to their new home at RAF Marham just over two weeks ago, the Squadron officially reformed on the 1st August.
As a mark of respect for the 154 personnel that 207 Squadron lost during WWII there was a single Tucano flypast at 1:54pm followed by a minute’s silence.
... RAF Marham Station Commander Gp Capt Beck then handed Wg Cdr Williams his new pennant and it was raised by 207 Sqn personnel outside their Squadron building.
207 Squadron Warrant Officer, Warrant Officer Fisher said:
“It’s a real honour to have taken over as the Engineering Warrant Officer of 207 Squadron and I’m very proud to have been a part of this stand up ceremony. I’m looking forward to overcoming any challenges we have ahead of us as we grow the UK Lightning Force.”
207 Squadron are the Operational Conversion unit for the Lightning Force and will train all future UK F-35 pilots at RAF Marham.
