Message from the Commandant
Following receipt of a number of extremely high calibre nominations, I am very pleased to announce that Cadet Warrant Officer Class II Kiriaha McKee of the Wellington City Cadet Unit has been selected as the NZCF Cadet of the Year for 2018.
The Cadet of the Year Award is a nomination and selection process that recognises the cadet who most exemplifies the NZCF core values of Courage, Commitment, Comradeship and Integrity, during a calendar year.
A...ny cadet (CDTWO1(E) and below) can be nominated for the Cadet of the Year Award.
The Selection Panel looked for the individual that best exemplified the complete set of NZCF values, ahead of an outstanding example of one or more of the values. The panel also considered those qualities and contributions by the nominees towards any current organisational priorities.
I congratulate CDTWOII McKee on her selection. She has been an outstanding performer over the last twelve months and has been an excellent ambassador for her Unit, her Corps and the NZCF in that time.
CDTWOII McKee will be presented her award shortly and will represent the NZCF at the NZDF Person of the Year Awards later this month.
