SD70ACC's Coming Soon......Progress Rail has been testing the first two NS SD70ACC rebuilds and they will soon be shipping to NS. NS 1800 is former NS SD70 2537 and the 1801 is former 2548. Each has a new cab that was designed to fit the SD70 frame, which looks similar to the cab style on NS SD70M's 2591-2648, while utilizing the SD70ACe style widenose. The new SD70ACC cabs are isolated from the frame and widenose. The units have a new AAR-style control stand and electrical cabinet with Mitsubishi electronics, and new AC traction motors have been installed. They will be repainted at the NS Juniata Shops. 50 additional units are to be rebuilt by Progress Rail this year.
