We’re going to delay the release of our upcoming album, "Kooky Spooky… in Stereo!," to August 21. Read on to learn more about why...
A very important public conversation is taking place daily in our country about race and how it relates to justice (and injustice). Countless numbers of our fellow humans have felt called to speak their truths in recent weeks and we stand in support with those who are highlighting our collective failures in search of a better future.
After takin...g time to think about it, and getting the opinions of people of all sorts, we think the best thing to do is to give this conversation the space it deserves and delay our album release until August 21. There will always be time for goofy, rowdy rock… but it doesn’t feel right to us to be loud and self-promoting at this moment in time. We’d rather give space to people who are saying they need to be heard.
There are times when we have to take a look at our surroundings and the pain of our fellow humans and think about how our actions affect folks other than ourselves. We hope you understand.
Because things must be said plainly, we wholeheartedly condemn racism.
We encourage you to take time to educate yourselves on racial injustice and how you can be a part of a solution and not part of the problem. If you need a place to start, The National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C., developed a comprehensive site called “Talking About Race” (https://s.si.edu/30CqFKq) that is an incredible resource for understanding how racism has distorted the world we live in.
We promise you that we are using this time to reflect, examine our own actions and figure out how we can be a part of building an equitable future for everyone. We love you.
