will now try to explain a bit of what is happening with the "newborn" albums and Hidden Gems.
I met with Playground (the record company) and we found out that for the general audience, many of our tracks were hard or impossible to find these days. Inferior versions (soundwise) of some songs already existed on the net. However, only hardline Acers were aware of these versions. Many songs had only been released as b sides, or for example, on the... Japanese albums. These couldn’t be bought easily.
So we thought why we don’t put this on an album like many Acers have told / begged us to do. In addition, we wanted to spice it up with some tracks that were totally unknown to Acers and master them properly! We sorted out the most obvious tracks and mastered them. Then Playground came up with the idea to remaster all albums and put one extra track on each album as a bonus in order to make it more special! We did that and that what is coming out now.
The first plan was to release it last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Happy Nation. But things take time and I hope that we have been able to satisfy you all with our latest releases. It was hard to choose though. If this turns out good, we have talked about doing a part two with more rare and odd songs that may not be of high quality in terms of sound, but will be gifts for diehard fans, and I know there are some hahaha.It is never easy to please all but this is what we can do now anyway. More things are coming but I am not allowed to tell you yet and it might spoil the surprise as well.
