More than 60 thousand civilians flee towns and villages of Deir Izzor due to violent clashes between al-Nusra and islamic fighters from one side and the ISIS from the other:
Deir Izzor province: Islamic and al-Nusra fighters took semi-complete control over the Abriha village yesterday after clashes with the ISIS which took hold of the village 2 days earlier. The village lies 3 Kilometers away from the al-Basira town. Clashes were ongoing last night between both sides in the ...western outskirts of the Abriha village, the outskirts of the al-Subha village and the al-Tawamiya village amid military reinforcements from both sides to the area. At least 62 fighters from both sides, including 2 commanders from al-Nusra front and an islamic brigade, were killed by 4 days of clashes in the area, during which al-Nusra and islamic fighters took hold of the al-Basira mountain. The al-Basira town (inhabited by more than 35,000 persons), the Abirha village (inhabited by more than 12,000 persons) and the al-Zar village (inhabited by approximately 15,000 persons) have witnessed large-scale migrations because of the ongoing clashes in the area. al-Nusra fighters burned several houses in the al-Basira town and al-Zar village and ISIS fighters burned several civilian houses in the Abriha village. A child from the al-Basira town in eastern Reef Deir Izzor was killed on May 1st by a shell that fell on the area.
