Hasakah province: The city of Ras al-Ein (Sere Kaniyeh) is witnessing violent clashes between Kurdish people's defence units, part of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and fighters from the Nusra front and the Ghuraba' al-Sham brigade in the Mahatta and Hawarna neighbourhoods.

The city has witnessed violent clashes in the recent days, with more than 29 jihadi fighters and 3 Kurdish fighters killed, as well as the Kurdish head of the city revolutionary council and a Kurdish a...ctivist. Both sides have been receiving reinforcements, 400 Kurdish fighters have come from across Syria, 200 members of the Nusra front came from the town of Tal Abyad, and more than 100 fighters and 3 tanks commandeered by Ghuraba' al-Sham went into the city, 1 was stationed by the turkish border and 2 south of the city. The PYD controls the east and the north parts of the city, while the rebel factions control the south, and the west, as well as the Turkish crossing.
