... On 2nd December 1982 Police Constable Leonard COLEMAN of St Helena Police was murdered after attending a Domestic incident.
At his funeral service St Helena news quotes from the service- “Leonard’s bravery in the face of his duty, something of which his parents and the rest of his comrades should be very proud serves to emphasise the important fact that the work done by the Police force is essential for the well-being and happiness of life on this island”.
Flying to show a mark of respect to all of those who have paid the ultimate price in serving their communities is the flag of the thin blue line recognized by rank and file in UK Police as showing respect for Colleagues who have lost their lives in service.
